Table 1 The criteria of enrollment as recommended by Ministry of Health, Malaysia

1. Opiate dependence by DSM IV criteria

1. Defaulter treatment for more than 3 days.

2. Age 18 years and above

2. Behavior judged by treating physician to be destructive to MMT clinic.

3. Willing to comply with the daily Direct Observation Therapy Supervision (DOTS) and dosing.
