Table 6 Examples of opposing comments about time, use of Zoom, and breakout sessions

From: BeHERE’s effective virtual training to build capacity to support people who use drugs in non-substance use disorder settings

Time

“Have a separate training on motivational interviewing. There wasn’t enough time to practice and learn about it.” (PTE)

“It was too long and most of us utilize motivational interviewing daily so that was redundant.” (PTE)

Zoom

“I thought it was great because, with my job, I wouldn’t be able to go to a lot of the trainings I go to, so Zoom is awesome.” (KII)

“Zoom is never as satisfying as in-person since it’s more dynamic in person…I’m not crazy about it, but it was effective enough that it kept my interest, and I was engaged.” (KII)

Breakouts

“I liked that we were able to go into breakout groups and talk about particular programs and the challenges that we faced.” (KII)

“[The thing I liked least about the training was] the breakout rooms. Folks keep their cameras off and microphones as well so a group of 4 was only 2.” (PTE)
